Flying Stars: Navigating Dynamic Energy Patterns

Flying Stars

INTRODUCTION

Flying Stars are celestial messengers, carrying dynamic energy patterns that ebb and flow through our living spaces.  This ancient practice offers a roadmap to understanding the ever-changing energies influencing our environments and lives.

💫 Flying Stars Natal Birth Chart

Just like in astrology, where a person’s date, time and location of birth are used to calculate a person's destiny in life, in Classical/Traditional Feng Shui,  similar information is used to determine the fate of a building, such as Time, Dimension (the year the building was built), and Orientation (compass direction it faces/sits). Each building is divided into nine equal sections or squares, with the eight compass directions on the outside squares and one centre square. All nine squares are known as 'gua'. Each gua corresponds to a different aspect of a person's life (such as love, prosperity, health, family, career success, etc.) and has one of the five elements associated with it: water, wood, fire, earth or metal. Classical Feng Shui gives us the original energetic blueprint of a property.

💫  Understanding the Nine Flying Stars

Flying Stars refer to the nine numbers called 'stars' representing distinct energy patterns. While we have permanent Flying Star number combinations based on the property's DOB, there are also transitionary stars. These transionary stars are not fixed; they shift annually, monthly, and even daily, creating a continuous energy dance. Each star has unique qualities, and their interactions can significantly affect our lives.

💫  The Cycles of Energetic Power

Each star has two sides to its personality: a more positive aspect, and the other is usually less positive. To what ratio is based on what type of star it is and what phase it's travelling through. The stars travel independently through one of the nine cycles in the grand 180-year period. Each 20-year cycle is a different phase with a distinct energy; as with many cycles, each star has an ultimate peak and a low period. In addition, some stars are inherited good, others are not, and there are exceptions to that rule, with stars that swing both ways or enhancers surrounding stars depending on transitionary energies. For example, an inherently good star in its worst period means you might not experience these great energies. In contrast, an inherently bad star in a good phase means the challenging energies associated are significantly lighter. The analysis is highly complex, and Feng Shui experts are highly trained in calculating, analysing and treating.

The Nine Flying Stars for 2024-2044

Below are the dominating sides of each star in this Fire Period (9) cycle.

  1. 🌟Star 1 (Fame, Wealth, Love Star): Associated with wisdom, fame and fortune.
  2. 🌟Star 2 (Health Star): Associated with health and fertility.
  3. 🌟Star 3 (Quarresl & Legal Star): Relates to misfortune, quarrels, robbery and lawsuits.
  4. 🌟Star 4 (Love, Education & Success Star): Influences love/romance, writing, academic achievements, creativity, career achievements and success, low morale. (extramarital affairs, sexual encounters)
  5. 🌟Star 5 (Adversity Star): Associated with power, catastrophe, death, lawsuits, illness, pain, accidents, fires, and delays. (untimeliest star.)
  6. 🌟Star 6 (Heaven, Celestial Power & Wealth Star): Connected to authority, respect and wealth.
  7. 🌟Star 7 (Misappropriations & Conflicts Star): Relates to competition, destruction, scandals, arguments, robbery and imprisonment.
  8. 🌟Star 8 (Joy & Abundance Star): Symbolises health, wealth and fame.
  9. 🌟Star 9 (Celebration & Enhancer Star):  Enhances accompanied number, whether timely or ultimately. Celebration, wealth Star (timeliest star/number.)

💫 Interactions and Combinations

The permanent Flying Stars are not isolated; they interact and combine with transionary stars, creating a dynamic matrix of energies. These interactions can enhance or suppress individual stars' qualities, shaping a space's energy. Feng Shui experts calculate and analyse these patterns, balancing them with remedies or enhancers from the five-element system. Experts also put in place cures for absorbing the tougher annual energies that travel through all properties annually.

💫 Empowering Personal Choices

By understanding and working with these energies, we can make informed choices to enhance specific aspects of our lives, such as careers, health, relationships, or wealth.

✨The Bagua Map: Navigating Life's Energies✨

Feng Shui Bagua Map

The Bagua Map

INTRODUCTION

Pronounced 'Bah-gwah', the Bagua Map is an ancient tool that locates different aspects of our lives in our living spaces. A Bagua Map points us in the direction of a person's life. In each area of the Bagua, Feng Shui experts analyse the Flying Star energies alongside the related family members to see 'who' might be affected by the energies, the areas of life the energies might be showing up in, and which body part is associated in case the energy is showing up as an alignment of sickness.

🗺️ Bagua Grid

In Classical  Feng Shui, experts decipher a property's facing and sitting direction (this is not always obvious) and then use magnetic compass directions to ascertain the correct direction to overlay a floor plan.

Each compass section is referred to as 'gua'.

 N ⬆️ NW ↘️ W ➡️ SW↗️ S ⬇️ SE ↖️ E ⬅️NE ↙️

Each gua has one of the five elements associated with it:

💦 Water (N)  🪙 Metal (NW + W)  🌎 Earth (SW+ NE) 🔥 Fire (S) 🪵Wood (SE+ E)

Each gua has a family member associated with it:

  • (N) Middle Son
  • (NE) Youngest Son
  • (E) Eldest Son
  • (SE) Eldest Daughter
  • (S) Middle Daughter
  • (SW) Wife & Mother
  • (W) Youngest Daughter
  • (NW) Father/Husband

Each gua has a body part associated with it:

  • 💦 (N)  Ears, blood, kidneys, bladder, bones, hair, sex organs, uterus.
  • 🌎 (NE) Hands, fingers and arms.
  • 🪵 (E) Feet, calves, throat, liver, gall bladder.
  • 🪵 (SE) Thighs, buttocks, knees, shins, low back.
  • 🔥 (S) Eyes, heart, small intestines, blood vessels.
  • 🌎 (SW) Stomach, spleen, pancreas, flesh, fat abdomen.
  • 🪙 (W) Mouth (teeth & tongue), chest and skin.
  • 🪙 (NW) Head, lungs, large intestines,
  • 🩺 Health (Centre): back, neck and shoulders

🗺️ The Bagua Map's Nine Areas

The Bagua Map divides any space,  be it a room, a home, or a garden, into nine distinct zones, each corresponding to a specific aspect of life:

  • 💼 Career and Life Journey (North): This area relates to your career, life path, and purpose.
  • 📚 Knowledge and Self Cultivation (North East): Knowledge and personal growth find their place here.
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 Family and Community (East): This area pertains to family relationships and ancestral connections.
  • 💰 Wealth and Prosperity (South East): Prosperity and abundance are represented here.
  • 📸 Fame and Reputation (South): Your reputation and recognition reside in this area.
  • ❤️ Love and Relationships (South West): This zone is dedicated to heart matters.
  • 🚸 Creativity and Children (West): Creativity, children, and joy are nurtured here.
  • ✈️ Helpful People and Travel (North West): This central area represents support and travel
  • 🩺 Health (Centre): Health and well-being are the focus in this zone.

The Flying Star energies are calculated and analysed in relation to the corresponding gua. This enables a Feng Shui expert to understand how these energies are likely to manifest. For instance, this analysis reveals which area of life the energies will influence, which body parts might be impacted, and how they could affect relationships by integrating these two systems.

The Five Elements: Interconnected Forces

Feng Shui Five Elements System

The Five Elements

INTRODUCTION

In Feng Shui, the concept of the Five Elements, often referred to as 'Wu Xing' (五行) in Chinese, is a cornerstone of understanding how energies interact in our living spaces. Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water elements act as remedies for either enhancing positive chi or balancing negative chi in living spaces.

Five Energies in Nature

Wu (‘5’) Xing, meaning ‘phases' or 'elements’, represents the five energies in nature and our body, a system of balance and harmony. Wu Xing is the five types of active chi dominating at different times: Water dominates in Winter, Wood in Spring, Fire in Summer, Metal in Autumn, and the Earth dominates the transitional periods between seasons. Water, Wood, Fire, Metal and Earth are the only natural substances whose properties resemble the respective chi in the closest possible way. While bringing the natural elements is highly recommended, one exception to the rule is the element Fire, as it is not feasible to burn fire 365 days per year, 24 hrs per day for most people and can be unsafe. On rare occasions when we cannot bring the other natural elements in (outside of fire) in these instances, we make symbolic suggestions. However, they do not have the same potency as the actual element, which will lend some support.

Central Messages

Elements have a central message: colour (s), shape, material, properties, textures or smell/taste, human body parts, and direction. When we bring elements into a space, we want to do it in the following order:

  • Natural element itself
  • Colour of the element
  • Artwork representing the element

The Five Elements:

  1. 🪵 Wood (木): Wood represents growth, expansion, and vitality. It's like the sturdy trunk of a tree, reaching upwards and outwards.
  2. 🔥 Fire (火): Fire embodies passion, transformation, and illumination. It's like the flickering flame, casting both light and warmth.
  3. 🌎 Earth (土): Earth signifies stability, nourishment, and grounding. It's like the solid ground beneath our feet, providing support.
  4. 🪙 Metal (金): Metal represents precision, clarity, and refinement. It's like the gleaming surface of a well-crafted instrument.
  5. 💦 Water (水): Water symbolises flow, adaptability, and intuition. It's like the gentle stream that meanders through the landscape.

Five Types of Active Chi

  • 💦 Water runs downward, liberal (wavy, black, and dark blue)
  • 🪵 Wood grows upwards, enduring (rectangular, green)
  • 🔥 Fire spreads in all directions, radiant & hot (triangular, red, orange, purple & bright pink)
  • 🌎 Earth attracts and concentrates, stable (cubical, brown and yellow)
  • 🪙 Metal pierces inwards, sharp, and pointing (spherical, white, golden and silver)

The Three Cycles of Interconnectivity:

The Five Elements of Feng Shui are not isolated; they engage in intricate relationships through three cycles. 1.) 'Productive/ Creative Cycle' when the elements are in perfect harmony. 2.) 'Controlling Cycle where an element destroys another element. 3.) ' Reductive Cycle'  is when the element redued another element through erosion, dampening, reducing or absorbing.

Productive or Creative Cycle

Primarily used as a remedy to enhance or activate positive energies.

  1. 🪵  Wood feeds 🔥 Fire: Wood nurtures the energy of Fire, just as trees fuel a fire's growth.
  2. 🔥 Fire creates 🌎 Earth: The warmth of Fire creates ash, which enriches the Earth.
  3. 🌎 Earth produces 🪙 Metal: Minerals and metals are born from the Earth's depths.
  4. 🪙 Metal holds 💦 Water: Metal containers hold and shape the flow of Water.
  5. 💦 Water nourishes 🪵 Wood: Water provides the vital nourishment needed for the growth of Wood.

Controlling or Destructive  Cycle:

This cycle is used mainly when a heavy remedy is required for intense negative energies but will also destroy the surrounding good energies too.

  1. 💦 Water extinguishes 🔥 Fire: Water has the power to extinguish flames.
  2. 🔥 Fire melts 🪙 Metal: Intense heat from Fire can melt Metal.
  3. 🪙 Metal cuts 🪵 Wood: Metal is strong enough to cut/chop through Wood.
  4. 🪵 Wood controls 🌎 Earth: Wood takes the earth's nutrients.
  5. 🌎 Earth absorbs 💦 Water: Earth dams Water.

Weakening or Reductive Cycle:

This cycle is used in most instances where the energies are mildly negative and ideally wishing to destroy any of the good energies.

  1. 🪵  Wood weakens 💦 Water: Trees can absorb excessive water from the soil.
  2. 💦 Water weakens 🪙 Metal: Water can corrode/rust and weaken Metal.
  3. 🪙 Metal weakens  🌎 Earth: Metal weakens by excavating the earth to mine minerals.
  4. 🌎 Earth weakens 🔥 Fire: Earth dampens down the fire.
  5. 🔥 Fire weakens 🪵 Wood: Fire reduces the wood to ashes.
